Net Zero
We are committed to electrifying homes as part of our dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility. By transitioning to electric-powered systems, we reduce reliance on fossil fuels, thereby lowering carbon emissions and promoting cleaner air quality. This shift not only enhances energy efficiency but also aligns with our broader goals of minimising our carbon footprint and propelling Australia towards its net zero goal by 2050.
Benefits of making the switch.
Rebates
There’s no better time than now to switch from gas to electric as the Victorian government has released the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. Households can apply for rebates to install efficient electric appliances including reverse cycle air conditioners, heat pump hot water systems, efficient lighting and more.
Improved air quality
Gas appliances emit pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during combustion. These pollutants can contribute to indoor air pollution and respiratory problems with links to asthma in children. Electric appliances produce no direct emissions during operation.
Save on bills
Electric appliances, particularly newer models, tend to be more energy-efficient than gas appliances. They may utilise advanced technologies such as heat pumps, induction cooking, and energy-efficient heating elements, resulting in lower energy consumption and reduced utility bills over time.
Reduced greenhouse gas emissions
Electric appliances typically produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to their gas-powered counterparts, especially if the electricity is generated from the increasingly generated renewable sources such as solar or wind energy. By transitioning to electric appliances, you can help reduce your carbon footprint.
Enhanced safety
Gas appliances can pose safety risks such as gas leaks, fire hazards, and carbon monoxide poisoning if not properly installed, maintained, or vented. Electric appliances eliminate these risks associated with gas combustion, providing a safer alternative for households.
Completely power your home through the sun
Generating your electricity through solar panels provides a degree of energy independence, as you're less reliant on the grid and vulnerable to fluctuations in energy prices or power outtages. Over time, solar energy can lead to significant cost savings on electricity bills, especially when paired with energy-efficient electric appliances and home batteries.
